The Jakarta Watch (JW) Madas Nusantara, a supervisory institution for abuse of power in DKI Jakarta, collaborates with the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Jaya to oversee DKI Jakarta, in order to assist Governor DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, in creating Good and Clean Governance (GCG) in the administration of the DKI Jakarta government. Led by the Director of The Jakarta Watch (JW) Madas Nusantara and Chairman of the Madas Nusantara organization, KRH. HM. Jusuf Rizal, SH, the delegation met with the officials of PWI Jaya led by the Chairman, Kesit, Secretary, Arman, Secretary General, H. Fauzi, SE, Vice Chairman of DPW DKI Jakarta, Cak Bery, Chairman of DPD Jakarta Timur, Abdul Hamid, and officials of Brikom Jakarta Timur. During the meeting with the media in Jakarta, Jusuf Rizal, a Madura-Batak anti-corruption activist, mentioned that the collaboration with PWI Jaya aims to strategically work together in overseeing the development of Jakarta City led by Pramono-Rano for the period of 2025-2030.
The Jakarta Watch (JW) Madas Nusantara network, established in four regions including Jakpus, Jakbar, Jakut, and Jaksel, is set to monitor the performance of the Jakarta Provincial Government. They plan to form committees in each district (DPK) and sub-district (DPL) to act as their eyes and ears. This collaboration with PWI Jaya is seen as crucial in the era of the industrial revolution where the role of journalists is highly valued. The importance of information and communication channels, along with social media support, cannot be understated.
In response, the Chairman of PWI Jaya, Kesit, welcomed the presence of The Jakarta Watch (JW) Madas Nusantara for collaboration. Kesit sees great potential in working together, including holding routine discussions under the theme “Our Jakarta” to address various issues faced by the city, such as the Shadow Terminal before Eid al-Fitr. According to media sources, The Jakarta Watch (JW) was established by the Madas Nusantara organization to assist Pramono Anung in developing Jakarta transparently, accountably, and justly for the welfare of Jakarta residents. Madas Nusantara is a volunteer organization that contributed to the victory of Pramono-Rano in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Regional Election.
