National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has halted the operations of its Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) after discovering substandard food in the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program. Redy Hendra Gunawan, Special Staff to the BGN, mentioned that BGN is conducting a thorough investigation and testing of MBG food samples in the laboratory. The agency is collaborating with independent institutions, local health, and education departments to determine the cause of the issue and ensure the well-being of affected students. BGN expressed its sincerest apologies to all stakeholders impacted by the incident, emphasizing zero tolerance for negligence in meal procurement and distribution. Strict corrective measures are being implemented, including partner screening, hygiene standards enhancement, and SOP development for best practices. BGN is committed to upholding food safety standards and program effectiveness with the collaborative efforts of stakeholders.
