President Prabowo Subianto expressed his gratitude and pride towards all officers and participants involved in the 80th Independence Day ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. He commended their discipline, order, and enthusiasm displayed throughout the day. Prabowo highlighted the importance of the ceremony’s organization and spirit before departing from the honorary podium at the Palace. He instructed Ceremony Commander Colonel Slamet to personally thank each participant for their dedication.
Following the president’s directive, 80 percent of the ceremony invitations were allocated to the general public. The Independence Day commemorations featured a Flag and Proclamation Procession from the National Monument to the Palace, accompanied by a People’s Festival showcasing cultural performances and complimentary culinary delights. The day’s festivities will climax with the United Independence Carnival on August 17, 2025, along Jalan MH Thamrin to the HI Roundabout and Semanggi, marking the pinnacle of the 80th Independence Day celebrations.
