President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, received a warm welcome from Peruvian President, Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The event, which took place on Monday (11/8), was graced by the presence of approximately 3,000 students from various schools in the capital city. President Boluarte arrived at the palace in a grand motorcade, accompanied by 17 motorcycle troops and 60 mounted guards. Upon her arrival, she was personally greeted by President Prabowo, and the two leaders then stood together on the ceremonial podium as the national anthems of Peru and Indonesia echoed through the air.

After the anthems were played, both leaders inspected the honor guard and paid tribute to their respective national flags. President Prabowo introduced his official delegation, which included key figures such as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of State Secretariat, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of BKPM, Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Trade, and Cabinet Secretary. The purpose of President Boluarte’s visit was to strengthen the diplomatic ties between Indonesia and Peru.

It is worth noting that Indonesia and Peru are both members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), a platform for economic cooperation in the region. This meeting between the two heads of state comes as a reciprocal gesture following President Prabowo’s visit to Peru last year. The aim of the bilateral meeting was to enhance the relationship and cooperation between the two nations, underlining the importance of diplomatic exchange and collaboration on a global scale.
