President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, welcomed General Bryan Patrick Fenton, Commander of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), during his visit to the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The meeting showcased a cordial relationship between the two leaders as they discussed enhancing defense cooperation between Indonesia and the United States.

The exchange began with a respectful military salute from Prabowo to Fenton, followed by a warm conversation expressing their well-being and admiration for each other’s physical fitness. General Fenton presented President Prabowo with the USSOCOM Honor Medal as a token of appreciation for his outstanding leadership and dedication to strengthening U.S.-Indonesia defense relations, particularly in special operations.

General Fenton praised President Subianto’s visionary leadership in fostering bilateral defense ties and international collaboration, emphasizing joint efforts in counterterrorism, strategic cooperation, and regional security. As a gesture of goodwill, he placed the USSOCOM Honor Medal around Prabowo’s neck and presented a ceremonial gift to him.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Minister of Defense Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
