President Prabowo Subianto recently visited former President Joko Widodo at his residence in Solo to provide updates on his state visits to various countries, including Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Belgium, and France. During the meeting, Prabowo shared details of his international tour, highlighting significant breakthroughs achieved, particularly in negotiations with the European Union regarding the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
Accompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Prabowo arrived at Jokowi’s residence and was warmly welcomed by Jokowi and First Lady Iriana. The meeting, described as cordial and relaxed, covered current issues and key outcomes from Prabowo’s 15-day diplomatic tour. Prabowo expressed gratitude for the positive results obtained during his visits, including potential economic collaborations with countries like Belarus.
Emphasizing Indonesia’s strong international reputation and commitment to neutrality, Prabowo reiterated the nation’s dedication to peaceful cooperation and non-alignment with political blocs. He highlighted Indonesia’s application to join the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and its economic engagement with groups like BRICS. Prabowo stressed Indonesia’s stance on respecting all countries, fostering friendships globally, and refraining from interfering in domestic affairs.
The meeting with Jokowi also included discussions with State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Angga Raka Prabowo, reflecting Indonesia’s collaborative approach to diplomatic relations and global engagement.
