President Prabowo Subianto of the Republic of Indonesia had a meeting with King Philippe Leopold Louis Marie of Belgium at Laeken Palace in Brussels on Sunday, July 13, 2025. The two leaders had a warm reception and took an official photo in the palace’s main hall before engaging in a private one-on-one meeting. President Prabowo expressed his gratitude to King Philippe, who responded with equal courtesy. Accompanying the President were Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Ambassador Andri Hadi. This meeting marked the culmination of President Prabowo’s high-level engagements during his state visit to Belgium.
After the meeting, King Philippe personally bid farewell to President Prabowo as he left for Brussels Airport. The President then continued his journey to Paris, France, to participate in the Bastille Day celebrations as a guest of honor. Earlier in Brussels, President Prabowo also had important diplomatic discussions with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and President of the European Council António Costa. These meetings highlighted Indonesia’s diplomatic efforts to finalize the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the European Union, aimed at strengthening economic relations between the two entities.
