Jakarta – Plaza Senayan Jakarta witnessed when presidential candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto, attended the meeting of Erick Thohir Alumni Amerika Serikat (ETAS) volunteers on Monday (22/1). In that moment, Prabowo expressed his honor for being invited by Garibaldi Thohir, also known as Boy Thohir, in the midst of business people who are alumni of the US in the 80s and 90s.
Prabowo, who was accompanied by several figures such as Maruarar Sirait, Garibaldi Thohir, and Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, expressed his joy and touched to see strong support from the ETAS volunteers. About 120 volunteers were present and they had been fighting alongside Erick Thohir since the National Campaign Team (TKN) in 2019, and declared full support for Candidate Number 02 Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka in the 2024 General Election.
“This is a great honor. I now understand why I lost twice (in the presidential elections in 2014 and 2019) because back then I was not invited here (with the US alumni),” said Prabowo with a smile, referring to the warm welcome from the ETAS volunteers.
The ETAS volunteers, most of whom were wearing light blue shirts as a sign of support, were said to have been fighting alongside Erick Thohir since the TKN 2019. In their statement of support, they stated that Prabowo-Gibran is the best choice to lead Indonesia for the next five years.
“Not only from Indonesia, ETAS volunteers also came from various cities in the United States, from Boston to Los Angeles, from Washington to California, from Indiana to Florida. We are here to support you,” said Bernandino Moningka Vega, one of the attending alumni.
In the event, Prabowo expressed his appreciation for the great trust and support from the ETAS volunteers.
“I am very grateful for the great trust placed on my shoulders,” he said sincerely.
The full support from the US alumni gives additional strength to Prabowo Subianto in the competition for the 2024 Presidential Election. Prabowo reaffirmed his commitment to building a better Indonesia, and he called on all parties to unite for the common goals. (SENOPATI)
